The Loathsome Dragon retold by David Wiesner and Kim Kahng, illustrated by David Wiesner [in AsianWeek]

Loathsome DragonA gorgeously rendered tale about yet another evil stepmother who turns the good and beautiful stepdaughter into the Loathsome Dragon, awaiting three kisses from her beloved but missing brother. Of course, since Bruno Bettelheim already told us why stepmothers have to be so evil, you have to wonder why widowed kings are always so incredibly stupid. But that’s a topic for another book.
